ZenGallery Support

Welcome to the official support page for ZenGallery — swipe once per photo to keep or clear, and win back the storage your blurry shots, duplicate screenshots and old memes have been holding on to.

Common Questions

  • Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No. ZenGallery is local-first. Every swipe, deletion and statistic happens on your device. A connection is only used to load ads.
  • Where do deleted photos actually go?
They go to your Photos app's Recently Deleted album, exactly as if you had deleted them yourself. They stay recoverable there for 30 days, then iOS removes them permanently.
  • I deleted something by mistake.
Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted and tap Recover. Nothing ZenGallery removes bypasses that safety net.
  • The app asks for photo access. What is it allowed to do?
ZenGallery needs full photo library access to show your photos and to move the ones you swipe away into Recently Deleted. It never uploads or copies your library anywhere. You can review or change this under Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → ZenGallery.
  • My library looks empty or only shows a few photos.
That usually means access is set to Selected Photos rather than Full Access. Change it in the Settings path above and reopen the app.
  • Why do photos I chose to keep come back later?
That is deliberate. ZenGallery uses spaced repetition to resurface kept photos after a while, so a library you were unsure about gets a second, calmer look. Photos you delete never come back.
  • My storage number didn't drop after deleting.
iOS only frees the space once the items leave Recently Deleted. Empty that album, or wait out the 30 days, and the space is returned.
  • Do my swipes survive a reinstall?
No. Your keep/delete history and statistics live in an on-device database, so reinstalling or moving to a new device starts you fresh.

App Features Overview

  • Swipe to sort — one gesture per photo: keep it, or send it to Recently Deleted.
  • Storage reclaimed — see how much space each session has won back.
  • Spaced repetition — kept photos resurface later so you can decide again without pressure.
  • Nothing leaves your phone — no uploads, no account, no sync.

Troubleshooting

  • The app is slow on a very large library.
The first scan of a library with tens of thousands of photos takes a moment. Leave it in the foreground for the initial pass and later sessions will be quick.
  • A swipe didn't register.
Swipe from the middle of the photo card rather than from the very edge of the screen, where iOS claims the gesture for its own back/Control Centre actions.
  • Something else is wrong.
Email us with your iPhone model and iOS version and we will get back to you.
